So here is the current state of her room (mid-packing for the redo)...
Here is our inspiration room...
So we have decided to do this room on an extremely tight budget and use as many existing pieces of furniture, etc as possible, so the inspiration room is mostly for the colors.
Here is the list of what we did (you can click on link items below to view the before/after and tutorials)...
**Some supplies I used I already had, so that helped to keep the cost low (i.e.- polyurethane, Kilz primer, craft paint, etc.)
- Painted walls ($35= paint + primer)
- Changed from curtains to valance on widow ($6= 1 yard of fabric and stitch witch)
- Added linen curtains to closet ($15)
- Made-over cheapy bookshelf ($20=2 cans spray paint, 1 1/2 yards fabric and 4 decorative feet)
- Made-over zebra dresser ($20= 2 cans of spray paint, hardware and craft paint)
- Painted mirror and chair ($4= 1 can of spray paint)
- Made headboard ($35= 2- 2x4's, 2- 1x4's, 2-1x6's)
- Made nightstands (re-purposed wood shelves that were hanging on the wall)= $0
- Made-over existing lamps = $10 (1 can spray paint, 1 swatch of fabric and 1 new small lampshade)
- Changed bed linens= $ 40
- Made canvas art for walls= $ 15 (3 small canvases, 3 swatches of fabric from Wal-Mart)
- Made throw pillow ($10= 1 pillow and extra pillow case from new bed sheets)
Total spent..... $210
Here is what we started with (mid-packing up), this room is small (only 10x10)...
White linen curtains on the closet instead of doors
Old lampshade with a makeover ($2 piece of fabric and some spray paint)
This was black, I gave it a coat of white paint and used some fabric (about 1.5 yds) on the back
Valance made from some left over fabric that I used for the bookcase.
Dresser top (was zebra print top, and the base was black), I am still working on the drawers I will post a pic of the whole dresser once it is done.
